Make Baseball Great Again!

Why the MLB was better with steroids

Baseball purists will always argue that the biggest detriment to the game was the introduction of steroids as performance enhancers. The sad truth that they don’t want to admit is that baseball today is boring without them. Today’s MLB is a pitcher’s league so, of course its boring and it will be boring until they allow steroids to be used.

Watching a baseball game to see how the pitchers do (unless it’s a no hitter or perfect game) is like going to see the new Avengers movie to watch Bruce Banner. I don’t know about you but all I want to see is the fucking Hulk. Lets face it, what’s more entertaining than this in baseball:

Go ahead, hate Barry Bonds all you want and call him a cheater. What many forget, is he wasn’t the only one. As a kid my all of my heroes were cheaters so to speak. ARod, Roger Clemens, Mark McGwire, and even fucking Sammy Sosa all cheated. Does this make it right? Of course not, but when about half of the league including the pitchers were all on the sauce the game was just more fun and entertaining. Sure, I will say that there are great guys in the league now like Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw, and Noah Syndergaard. Mike Trout being the best of the bunch, aside from Kershaw, is an absolute superstar in the baseball world but unless you live west of the Mississippi or actually watch baseball you’d have no clue.

If you showed a picture of him in his uniform to all of America 90% of people wouldn’t be able to tell you who the hell he is but on the other hand you show someone a picture of Barry Bonds and they’ll call him a cheater before you even get the question out. This is America’s national past time and I for one won’t stand for it and won’t allow the game to dive even further.

When everyone was on steroids the tensions were high and the rivalries were at their best. Anyone that disagrees needs to go back and watch the 2004 ALCS between the Yankees and Red Sox. Pedro threw a 72 year old man by his head for god sake.

These were the things that made baseball exciting. I have a theory with sports and it is that I think the reason why some sports are so popular is because there is a chance someone might actually die (aside from basketball and even they flop to make it interesting). This theory is only good for baseball when people are roided up and pissed off throwing gas at people’s heads and crushing 500ft dingers. Fuck shortening the game. It’s the same amount of time as any sport and has more time of actual play of any sport already.

Bring back steroids and put Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame is what I say. Let’s make baseball great again.
